Ontario Marriage Contract
Planned price. Not yet available for purchase.
In Ontario, a prenuptial agreement is called a marriage contract. It lets a couple who are marrying — or already married — agree in advance how property, debts and support would be handled if the marriage ends. Our guided version builds the contract from lawyer-approved clauses, chosen by fixed rules from your answers.
What it will cover
- Property each of you brings into the marriage
- Gifts and inheritances received during the marriage
- How property would be divided on separation
- Responsibility for debts
- Spousal support terms
- Financial disclosure schedules
A good fit if
- You are both Ontario residents
- The wedding is more than a few months away
- You will both share full financial disclosure
- Neither of you owns a business or complex assets
Important to know
- A marriage contract cannot limit a spouse’s right to live in the matrimonial home.
- Terms about parenting future children can be disregarded by a court if they are not in the child’s best interests.
- Each partner should get their own independent legal advice well before the wedding.
